.the story.

Elimaem is built from a foundation that supports ever changing expression and experimentation with no limits or rules. The founder, Elisha (a.k.a. Lish), has embraced the wild and weird since 1981. She was born to be a maker. Her parents influenced and encouraged her creative mind from the very beginning. Her constant curiosity has paved the path to explore the arts in many forms. Color has become her favorite language to communicate through each medium.

Elisha was exploring color and sewing her own clothing long before becoming an oil painting major or learning pattern drafting and making. Her Sicilian grandmother, Florence Antoinette, taught her the art of sewing when she was a lil’ bambina. Experimenting with the combination of textiles and color has become her main focus…for now. She is inspired by constantly evolving and collaborating. This keeps her open to new ideas and building fire. The unexpected has become a form of meditation. Elisha sees the slow and unknown process of her art as a way to dig deeper. Going with the flow and stepping into the unknown outcome of each piece is like a dance to her…every beat is different and carries a fluid movement and mood.

Elimaem sprouted as a concept long before this site. The logo has been a constant element. It’s scribbled in sketchbooks decades old and maybe even still sprayed onto a random wall in a city.

Elimaem creates collections with no borders. Each item is hand designed with an attention to detail and care. This portfolio shows a glimpse of our many ideas. Each item is one of a kind and is always evolving, flowing and building onto the next timeless piece. We hope you love them as much as we enjoy exploring the unknown to create them!
